Raymond Lifestyle – Class, Style & a Bit of That Old-School Vibe

Okay, so when you think about menswear in India, or even just fashion that kinda screams “sophisticated uncle but make it stylish,” one name that defo comes to mind is Raymond. Like, even if you’re not into clothes or whatever, you’ve probably heard the name. “The Complete Man” ads? Yeah, those ones that show some super emotional moments, dad hugging his son, soft piano music playing. That’s Raymond vibe.

But Raymond’s not just suits and feel-good ads. There’s a whole lifestyle thing going on with the brand now, and it’s honestly kinda cool. Let’s talk about what Raymond Lifestyle is actually about (and some things that maybe don’t work too well too, let’s be real).

A Lil Bit of History (Not Boring I Promise)

So Raymond started in like… 1925? Yeah, a loooong time ago. It began with fabric, mostly wool stuff for suits and all. Very classy, very British-India era. Over time they became the go-to brand for men’s suits in India. Like if someone was getting married, or had an interview, Raymond store was THE place to go with your dad.

The whole “The Complete Man” campaign started in the ’90s and really made it big. It wasn’t just about clothes anymore, it was like, about values and being that good guy, family man, etc. Bit cheesy now but hey, iconic stuff.

Okay But What Is “Raymond Lifestyle”?

So now Raymond is more than just cloth and suits. The company is doing this whole lifestyle branding, which means they’re trying to be part of every part of a modern man’s life. They’ve got:

  • Ready-to-wear clothes

  • Custom tailoring (called Made to Measure)

  • Formal, casual, festive & even athleisure

  • Grooming products (yes, like beard oil & perfume lol)

  • Home stuff like bedsheets and towels too

They’re trying to go from “just buy a shirt here” to like “live the Raymond life.” Which sounds fancy but kinda smart marketing too tbh.

Style Game – Still Suits, But More Now

People think Raymond is only for office clothes or wedding sherwanis, but they actually have casual stuff now. Like denim shirts, chinos, t-shirts, sneakers… even joggers?? Yeah, I was suprised too.

Still tho, their suits are the big deal. You walk into their store, and it’s like, walls of fabric rolls, very posh uncle energy. You pick a fabric, they take your measurements, and boom – a made-to-measure suit that fits way better than anything you’ll find off the rack.

They also do bandhgala, Nehru jackets, tuxedos, and other traditional things for weddings. If you’re the groom, Raymond will def try to get you to buy 3 outfits minimum

Made to Measure – Fancy But Worth It?

This one’s their tailoring service and it’s kinda cool, not gonna lie. You get to pick fabric, design, buttons, even how many pockets or if you want lining inside or not. They take all your body measurements properly (not just S/M/L), so the final outfit fits you perfectly.

Downside? It takes a few days (or weeks sometimes), and obviously costs more than buying something ready-made. But if you want to feel like a CEO or Bollywood groom, it’s worth it.

Raymond Stores – Classy but Also Lowkey Intimidating

Walking into a Raymond store is a whole vibe. The lighting is soft, they have slow music, the sales guys are all wearing ties and speak very politely, even if you show up in flip flops.

They have fabric section, trial rooms that actually feel clean, and lots of mirrors. Sometimes it feels a little intimidating if you’re just browsing and not planning to spend. But they do help without being rude, which is nice.

Some stores now also have a Raymond Home section with curtains, bedsheets, towels etc. Tbh, never thought I’d see a company known for suits selling cushion covers, but here we are.

Grooming Stuff – Trying to Be Man Company?

So they also jumped into the men’s grooming market. You can now get perfumes, beard oils, shaving kits, etc., from Raymond too. Kinda cool, the branding looks sleek, and they smell decent. Nothing too strong.

Are they better than, like, Bombay Shaving Company or The Man Company? Idk, maybe not. But if you’re already at the store buying clothes, it’s easy to throw a cologne in the bag.

Raymond for Women? Kinda, Not Really

So here’s the thing – Raymond is still mostly for men. They’ve dabbled in women’s clothing here and there, but nothing major. It’s still very much “The Complete Man” focus.

So if you’re a woman looking for a killer pantsuit or something, you might find it, but honestly it’s still very limited.

Festive Vibes – Ethnic with a Twist

During Diwali or wedding season, Raymond goes full desi mode. They have kurtas, jackets, sherwanis, all that festive glam. But even then, it’s like, elegant. Not too shiny, not blingy. More like… royal understated style.

They sometimes collab with designers too, which is nice if you want something traditional but not what every other cousin is wearing.

Price Talk – Is It Expensive?

Hmm. Kinda. Not crazy luxury level, but not cheap either.

  • Shirts: ₹1500 to ₹4000

  • Suits: ₹9000 upwards (way more if custom made)

  • Fabrics: Depends a LOT on what you pick

  • Casualwear: ₹1000 to ₹3000 ish

  • Grooming: ₹500 to ₹1500

So yeah, not your street market prices. But the quality is good, and it lasts long if you take care of it.

What’s Cool About Raymond Lifestyle

  • Classic, timeless vibe

  • Good for weddings, interviews, festivals, etc

  • Custom options make you feel rich lol

  • Expanding slowly into casual and grooming

  • Their staff knows what they’re doing, usually

What’s Not-So-Cool

  • Still feels very “uncle brand” sometimes

  • Not much for women

  • Some younger folks find it “boring” or too old-school

  • A bit pricey for students or budget folks

Final Thoughts (aka Me Rambling at the End)

Raymond Lifestyle is basically that stylish uncle who’s always dressed sharp, smells good, talks softly, and has his life together. But now he’s also trying to wear joggers and use beard oil

If you’re looking to step up your wardrobe game — especially for formal, office, or ethnic wear — Raymond is solid. It’s not trendy-trendy, but it’s reliable, high-quality, and has that classic vibe.

So yeah, if you’ve been wearing the same shirt since college or your wedding is coming up and you don’t wanna look like a mess, maybe go visit a Raymond store. You might come out feeling like “The Complete Man” too
